Up and Away

Image
So these posts are a little out of order, 'cause, still getting the hang of the blog thang.  Trying to catch up.  The flight over from SFO was my first time flying Aer Lingus (I had a hold over credit from a COVID era ticket) and my first time flying through Dublin.  It was a slightly shorter trip (9 hours instead of 10.5) and I booked the bulk head.  As you might imagine, everything was green (or teal, which happens to be the color for ovarian cancer), and attendants very Irish! 🍀It was also freezing so I wrapped myself like a mummy and shivered my way across the Atlantic sleeping not one wink.     Arrival at near the noon hour to rain (naturally).  I spent my layover exploring the airport and found an outpost of Ireland's mother ship. Then on to London Heathrow where it was also raining (but warm).  Two tubes and an Uber brought me to my destination with my beloveds (Flavio and Jamie).  Then blissful sleep for most of the next...

Leaving Puerto Vallarta - July 2023

Life lately is like living in Gryffindor house, never knowing where your next step will lead because the stairs keep moving.  I have been in Puerto Vallarta for almost a year, it has become my home and I have grown to love my local family and friends, this rich country and its gorgeous people.  The subject of my time here is worthy of it's own page but for now, it will serve as the backdrop for the beginning of another adventure. Sheets of rain every evening turned my little street into a river and the fountain in my foyer threatened to overflow.   It was grim! 😅until Christina and Tiassa came to the rescue. We did all the things and ate the cake.                 ...

I've been having trouble getting this "blog" thing going - I think because it's not social media, I don't feel like I can just randomly post, but instead have to be all thoughtful and articulate.  Thankfully, Sarah put me straight, "you're not writing a novel."  And so, I will just post as if it is social media.  Thanks Sarah! July 31 Quiet day today, spent most of it putting the final touches on my Camino after waking up with massive anxiety about it: can I actually carry my pack, or should I transport it?  Everything already hurts, constantly... what if I fall and can't get up? Is there Uber between towns?  What the hell am I thinking!!!  Ultimately decided to ship all of my luggage.  Luckily they have services for that (whew)!  A courier will pick up your bags each morning and deliver them to your next destination before your arrival. All I will carry is a small day pack with water, sandals, snacks, cash and my phone.  Maybe a few ot...
